They offered, I said yes. They're offering a 3 year contract with 30 days vacation, medical/dental insurance, relocation expenses, UI and pension scheme included and a salary that will let me live comfortably, according to the people I asked. The job seems really interesting and the environment seems agreeable.
So now I'm giddy and scared out of my wits, all at the same time. It's a rush, I tells ya.
Things to do:
– pack all my things
– sell my appliances (anybody want to buy a two year old stainless steel fridge and stove and a year old washer/drier?)
– ship my electronics to my folks' place
– get quotes for transatlantic freight shipping
– find an apartment in Cambridge
– settle the financial details for income tax
– get a pet passport for Boris
…. anything else I'm missing?
I am so freaking happy for you :|

Dayum!
HUGE congratulations. Mucho cool.
WOW :)
When do they need you? I hope you have some time to get everything sorted.
I know. That's going to be the hardest thing :S
But on the bright side, you'll have a free place to stay when you come visit :D
(http://livejournal.com/users/talisker)
not until I have a signed, scealed and delivered contract :)

Unitaur doesn't have a european branch?
Their preference is May 1st. I'm asking for June 1st if that's possible. Otherwise, I'll just have to hustle I guess.
Woohooo ! I'm very happy for both you and Katy, you didn't even had to wait very long to get the answer, that mean they really wanted you ! Happy new life my friend !
at the same time – damn ! it will make it much harder to taste some roasted beast and finally meet you oneday ! :p
(http://livejournal.com/users/kaliko_mel)
It's not that long but long enough to get everything in order I guess.
well, put it this way, you will now be able to have roast beast with all the proper english trimmings :D
(http://livejournal.com/users/talisker)
That's true.
Unitor has tons of european branches, but not many open spots for someone in my position.
You practically run the Montreal branch. That should count for something.
It should, but in this company, which is very much a “old boys club”, that doesn't mean crap.
well poo on them.
oh YAY, congrats!
HOLY CRAP!!

Yay!! Congratulations and all of that!
