I've already mentioned the fact that there are no screens in my windows and this freaks me out. Here is further proof of this. The rental people finally came and cleared out the couch and bed that came with the apartment this morning. They took them out through the french doors in my bedroom. The ones I promised myself would never be opened. About 5 minutes after I shut them for good, I hear a “thonk' from their general direction; to see this FRIGGIN HUGE bumblebee flying into them. Now let me rephrase that. When I say FRIGGIN HUGE I mean golf-ball sized.
This does not make me happy.
I once hit this huge bumblebee with a tennis racket and it splooshed all over the wall. It was gross.
Not that that helps you in any way though. If I were there, I would kill it for you.

I have a big can of bug neurotixic spray (i.e. RAID fly & wasp killer). I just never want to use it.
*grumbles at the friggin lack of screens”

she is just as scared of you as you are of her.

somehow, I doubt this.

I wish I could be there to kill the m…f…. of big bug

I wish I didn't need to.

That happened to me last year around this time… woke up to the durn thing bouncing against my window repeatedly only a foot from my head. No word of a lie, it was the size of my thumb. I slept on the couch until my roomate woke up and got it for me.
You get (mostly) used to the lack of screens, honest (Vancouver doesn't have any either). And the bees are only on the move like that for a week or 2 at this time of year. Then the queens have all settled into their new homes and things go back to normal.
Hugs.

Bugwash
You leave it alone, it will leave u alone.
My neighbour had bees. I used to shake my wrenches to remove the bees before using them. Bumbles are a bit different. They ignore u unless u sit on them. As a matter of fact, they raise them beasts to polliniate vegetable flowers in greenhouses.
Beside, I read once that their sting is good for arthritis sufferers.

they can be beneficial, I just want nothing to do with them in my environment.

Damn, that would freak me out too! I'm missing two screens in my appartment and I don't open those windows…could you buy some and install them yourself?
not the way those windows open.
that sucks.
hope you find a way to get around it or get used to it really fast.
*stands next to you looking menacantly at any bug who would dare pester you*

I remember a few years ago, we found a nest of those things in the back of the house (in a gardening shed). There was about 30-40 of those things, most of them the size of a ping-pong ball and some the size of a golf ball. I was petrified, since I have a phobia of things that fly and buzzes.

I feel your pain.
