But, on the other hand, he seems to be into a brand of catholicism that isn't much to do with Political Reality, but with the potential of the human interior. I can dig that, though I don't want it to run my life, and I can certainly see how he'd say that. Potter isn't particularly Christian, and certainly isn't very Catholic. Religion is so earnest, so literal, you know? It has to be, or it doesn't work properly. It requires pure belief, absolute and unshakeable, and perspectives distinct from that of the religion do detract from it.
… so he's right. I mean, it's uncomfortable, unpleasant, and a dangerous thing to have running around the free world, but it isn't untrue.
