It’s official, my time at the EBI is coming to an end. After more than 8 years, as of May 31st, I will no longer be employed there but will instead be working for a company called Infomedia, doing software engineering.
For those who want to know, Infomedia is an Australian-based company that also has offices in Michigan and in Cambridge. They are a leading global provider of information solutions to the after sales parts and service sector of the global automotive industry. Founded in 1987, Infomedia supplies online parts selling systems, sophisticated menu pricing systems, a range of publications, as well as data analysis and information research for automotive manufacturers. There are over 70,000 subscriptions to their products from franchised auto dealers in over 185 countries. They have worked with all of the world’s major car manufacturers. For over 20 years directly and 45 years through acquisitions, they have specialised in the development and licensing of information technology solutions for the global automotive industry. They have 25 full time staff members dedicated to purely automotive research. [Edited from their blurb]
The group I’ll be working with was one of those recent acquisitions, so it’ll still have that start-up mentality, while being backed by a solid, well established company. I’ll be doing code development, refactoring and integration between all of Infomedia’s products, and possibly some new product development. That’s still a bit hazy, but I have to say that I’m really looking forward to it.
