He's so cute when he's carrying that thing around the house. Plus, when he's in the right mood, he'll play fetch-and-disembowel :)

Cause I haven't had one for a long time now.
That's what the moggie is looking like these days.
The flock of pissed-off geese that live on campus.
The flock of Bobbles that live in our bedroom.
Ginger pork and veg soba noodles in broth.
I'm trying to do a bit of coding work, which is not helped by the fact that the cat is attacking his catnip mouse at my feet. Repeated attempts to throw him out of the office are useless, because the dumb thing apparently enjoys being flung in the air and always comes back for more… sigh.
I was reading in bed just now. I just finished the Agatha Christie book I've been reading. The cat was sleeping on my chest for a while, with two white-socked paws sticking under my book, then migrated to my legs, then got bored and annoyed me until I started throwing his mouse at him. That slowed down my reading a bit. I
cringe every time I hear his claws tear up and down the carpet on the stairs or when he's doing a sharp turn. He's currently eating the blue throw that lives on the back of the office chair.
Annoying little bugger.
You know the xmas tree I mentioned in a previous post? The same post where I put recent pictures of our monster?
Well, it only took him 2 days to destroy it. Ok, ok, so I'm being overly dramatic here, but we got home last night to find the tree fallen on the floor and baubles strewn everywhere in the living room and in the kitchen. I was not amused.
Still, no major harm done. The tree is a bit worse for wear, but it's now solidly anchored to a wall. I'm still picking up stray baubles in the morning, but I guess there's no avoiding that.

He's taken possession of the back of the couch as his domain.
Tolstoy seems to have discovered the bathroom sink, and all the fun he can have in it. This now means that I must fish the cat out of the sink every time I want to shave or brush my teeth.
Silly cat :)
I think the pussycat has settled in. Last night, he fell asleep on my legs on the couch. This morning, I was lounging in bed and felt him climb up on me, sit down on my chest, curl himself up and fell asleep purring like a V8 engine.
It felt right.
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of trust that the little guy gives away. For him, the world is a warm lap and a kind hand. It's a hard life :)
Cats might not be the brightest pets in the world, I'll admit. Mine, frankly, is dumb, even for a cat. But I love him. Even when he jumps on my face at 4am.
I'll be putting up more pictures and videos shortly.
BTW, in case you're wondering, he climbed up the laundry drying rack that we have in the kitchen to play with a cat toy he's rapidly destroying.
You might remember that a few days ago, I wrote about having put up muslin drapes in our bedroom window to let the breeze in but keep the cat out.
We woke up this morning with the pussycat sitting outside, on the rather narrow window ledge, looking quite happy with himself.
Yeah.
On to plan B, it would seem.
