I took Not-my-dog with me to my doc appointment in St-Sulpice. I’ve done it before and the doc loves her. We were early today so we shared a croissant on a nearby park bench, before she went on a full-on charm offensive with a tennis ball.

I love that dog
I was dogsitting NMD from Thursday to Sunday, on my (mostly) lonesome while Katy is away. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love that dog. She’s really good for my mental health. She forces me to go on twice-daily walks and run around like a nutter with a frisbee and a squeaky tennis ball.
Normally when we have dogs over, Katy sleeps in the guest bedroom to be around the dog, while the cats are self-isolating in our bedroom. This time, the guest bedroom has been turned into Ben’s 2nd (gaming) room so I slept on the sofa. Wasn’t as horrible as I expected it to be. Even though I’m not sleeping well anyways these days, it was…. OK.
I love the fact she climbed up on the sofa with me this morning. Enough so that I made her breakfast in bed :)
She’s gone back home now, and I’m in my big (empty) bed.
Edit: a few more day-sits for NMD
And at one point I thought I was going to need to wade into the lake.
NMD has gone home
My leg has gone numb
Nature walk with NMD
We took the car to drive up to the arboretum in Aubonne. It was a nice, if chilly, walk.

Lily eats Montreux
Lily tried churros, poutine, beaver tail with maple butter, charcuterie, foie gras (with and without truffle sauce) and tartiflette. She approves of all of it, but wishes she could get her own foie gras sandwich, instead of only having the odd bit.
Lily’s cleaning service
That’ll be 500chf, please.
Not-my-dog goes home today
We’ve had her since the start of August, but she’s going home today. She’s a good puppers. My therapist says that she’s been good for my mental health. I can’t really disagree.
I love how she’ll just come up to you and boop you with her nose to get your attention… then generally belch in your face. I love how she rolls around the grass like a nutter, but I’m less thrilled at her stubborn flomp when she doesn’t want to go back home. I love her attempts to “rescue” anyone who’s fallen down (less so when she’s just licked her own backside).
I’m going to miss her – I always do – but like all dogs, she can be a bit of work.
