You can’t walk a straight line without kicking her in the head or scissoring her in half. The dog can’t do anything right without being growled and hissed at. But she’s cute.

One less defective pet in the menagerie
Flash has left the building. When we took the cage back into the living room, post Lily, we found him lying unmoving in front of his coconut house. It must’ve happened during the night. Ben’s OK with it. It’s never pleasant, but he had a long life of benevolent neglect and honestly lived much longer than we expected him to, after having eaten his cage mate years ago..
Flash can still kick cat ass
There’s more and more salt in the gerbil’s fur, but he can still take on Pavel in a cage match and humiliate the cat.
Not-my-dog went home
Lily went home last night. Cats are happy to have the whole flat again. Humans have the sad.
Pet update
We took Tolstoy to get yet-another-specialist vet to get a high-resolution ultrasound and try and figure out what’s wrong with him. Good news, it’s not cancer, but he does have an enlarged pancreas and inflamed bowel, so we need to change his food to something properly hypoallergenic and go back to our normal vet to see how we need to adjust the grumpy moneypit’s meds.
In other news, not-my-dog is being uber cute and is settling in nicely. Probably too nicely, in the cats’ opinions.
