Ben told me to get a real job
We were sociable!
That was a nice way to spend a couple of hours :-) we just had an impromptu bbq with Sylvia and Gianlucca, our upstairs neighbours and their son Ricardo. Even though we’ve been living here for coming on to one year, this is the first time we really spent quality time with a neighbour. I’m going to start learning Italian from Sylvia and in return I’m going to help her practice her English.
Walking in a minefield
Walking in Bean’s room at night is worse than a minefield, with a happy mix of lego, cars and toys-that-make-noise (I’m looking at you, Neep!)
Thinking about my upcoming midlife crisis
I’m going to turn 40 next year. In the traditional things to do for a midlife crisis, I’ve already done the booze,
drugs and tattoos and my eyesight doesn’t allow me to have the fancy sports car or motorcycle. I already dress down for work, with cynical t-shirt and converse deck shoes. All that’s left available is getting a mistress. But that’s OK, Katy says she’s going to help me choose one.
So far, here’s what we agree on:
Mid-thirties
Redhead, long wavy hair
Green eyes
Ample, yet pert bosoms
Size 14-16, toned build
High sex drive
Must have a combination of the following:
– poor sense of humour
– average intelligence (but not thick)
– annoying laugh
Interested candidates should contact Katy for an initial screening interview :-)
Birfday feast
Mighty hunters
We’re not exactly sure how, but Pavel, an apartment cat on the 3rd floor of a block of flats, managed to catch a bird. We wrangler it off of him, and now it’s in a newspaper-filled cardboard box on the patio, with some seeds and water. Bean also gave it two sweeties, to apologise for it almost being eaten by our cats.
Fish tank, part II
We tried to just have a simple, passive cube tank, but the last fish didn’t make it (RIP Philippe). This time, there is a pump and a grow light, and the tank looks a damn sight better for it. So far, Darwin seems much more content with his surroundings and, thanks to Jacques and Cousteau the shrimp and Gumball and Gumbo the plek-type fishies, the tank has never been cleaner.
A sad fact…
I need to accept the fact that, one day, this or something very similar will happen. Having said that, I live for the day that I can embarrass Bean when he brings friends over :)
